Perseids 2008 |
| Perseid Evenings August 9th to 13th
The Perseids Evenings are nights observations of the famous meteor showers with special presentations, observations by telescope and musical ambiance. You are invited to bring you lawn chairs and blankets to spend the night with us.
Do you know why we make wishes when we see a shooting star ? Do you know why there are meteor showers ? Do you know why we call the August's meteor shower Perseid ? Do you know if there are other meteor showers ?
Join us and make a wish! Programm With a reservation for an evening at the summit, you have access to :
• Multimedia show about PERSEIDS (40 minutes).
• Outdoor observation with naked eyes and with telescops (weather permitting).
• Guided tour or observation at Velan Observatory, a 14 inches telescope at the base.
• Night hike weather permitting (à 21h10 et 23h10).
• The Universe in 3D (with 3D glasses, on giant screen).
• Interactif Cosmos inside the Cosmolab (projections and astronomical discussion).
• Ride up the Popular Observatory : observation with the 24 inches telescope and with naked eyes. Ride back down when you are ready, according to available places in the bus. If the sky is cloudy : you will ride up at the Popular Observatory ; there will be a visit and a multimedia presentation inside the Observatory and then you are invited back to the base (after 1 hour at the summit).

Example : if you have a reservation for a lift up to the Popular Observatory at 23 pm, you can participate the the presentation Perseids at 22 pm at the ASTROLab.
2008 Rates Access to the summit :
ADULTS $ 24.36 +tx
CHILDREN (6 to 17 ) $ 12.40 +tx
Access to the base :
ADULTS 11,96 $ +tx
CHILDREN (6 to 17) 5,98 $ +tx
Access fee to the Park not included, $ 3.50/adult, tx. incl.
